Last week, George Floyd lost his life at the heartless hands of police brutality. A white officer by the name of Derek Chauvin is currently facing 2nd degree manslaughter. In result, the murder provoked protests across the country.
In a story recently released by ESPN, Leonard Ellerbe, the CEO of Mayweather Promotions, confirmed that the athlete reached out to the Floyd family and that they accepted his offer to cover the costs for the June 9 funeral in Floyd’s hometown of Houston, Texas.
This is one real gesture from the celebrity boxer.
