Seven Lions, Jason Ross, Crystal Skies, and Jonathan Mendelsohn solidify melodic supergroup on ‘Foolish of Me’

Seven Lions‘ three-hour nightfall performance in August, set to the breathtaking views of the Gorge Amphitheatre, produced a more than ample inventory of memorable moments, but none were more savoring than the debut of “Foolish of Me,” an unanticipated sibling to Seven Lions, Jason Ross and and Jonathan Mendelsohn‘s 2018 outing, “Ocean.” After two months spent incessantly revisiting the live version, listeners can now replace it with its true form as the three-person brotherhood loops Crystal Skies into the mix to create a melodic supergroup for “Ocean’s” successor.“Foolish of Me” arrives as a top-of-the-line parallel to “Ocean,” and while it surely wasn’t a straightforward task, there’s an argument to be made that it certainly outclasses its 2018 equivalent. Mendelsohn’s vocals nestle seamlessly onto a radiant melodic dubstep stage as Seven Lions, Ross, and Crystal Skies come together for a five-star outing that already feels as perennial as “Ocean” did upon the first listen.Featured image: Fixation PhotographyTags: , , , ,
