After teasing it in his sets for over a month, dance veteran Maceo Plex finally shares his newest single, “Nu World.” All proceeds from the single will directly benefit the American Civil Liberties Union (ACLU) in their fight against voter suppression in the upcoming election. “Nu World” is built on a funky bass line and tech house groove, but dramatic synth chords take the track in a markedly more urgent direction. Combined with quotes from the likes of Barack Obama and Duke Ellington, not to mention the striking album art, and “Nu World” is certainly one of the most politically charged dance tracks of the year.
