After what felt like an eternity, it’s finally Tomorrowland week again. And it’s the first of three back-to-back-to-back weekends that people will gather in Boom this month, with Tomorrowland set to kick off its grand return on July 15. But before that happens, we wanted to look ahead towards what might be our most-anticipated set out of all three weekends: Matisse & Sadko back-to-back DubVision on the STMPD RCRDS stage on July 29. Thankfully, the one and only Rencontre Nocturne created a three-hour combination mix at the end of last year that we can use to hold us over until then. This elusive live pairing fell through twice over the last two years—once at Ultra 2020 and once at Mysteryland 2021—but it’s officially happening at the end of July. And Rencontre Nocturne’s 30th “Nuit Sombre” edition leaves the door wide open as to the tracks and mashups we can actually expect when it happens at Tomorrowland’s The Library stage, running through a flawless, 48-track succession of respective tracks from the duos like “SLVR,” “Backlash,” “Turn It Around,” “Hold On,” and many more. While we can only hope a proper collaboration comes to life sooner than later, start imagining what the set may sound like thanks to Rencontre Nocturne.
