Maryland wordsmith IDK has unveiled the lead single, “Taco,” from his forthcoming LP, Simple. The song is the independent rapper’s first release of the year since 2021’s USEE4YOURSELF. In an Instagram poll posted earlier in April, IDK gave followers the option to choose between two unreleased tracks produced by KAYTRANADA, “Breathe” and of course, “Taco,” which was ultimately chosen as the first single. The piano-laden “Taco” is a jazzy breakbeat cut produced by the Grammy Award-winning house music phenom, whose signature production style only continues to flourish with each collaboration. “Taco” is KAYTRANADA’s second collaborative release of the year, the first being “Iced Tea” with rising R&B songstress Joyce Wrice, who is currently supporting producer Lucky Daye on his United States spring tour. In accompaniment with the new release is a visual directed by the rapper himself and Anthony Sylvester. See it unfold below.
