Tycho has announced the release of an instrumental appendage to his Grammy-nominated Weather project, Simulcast, set to drop Feb. 28.
The soothsayer already dropped two glistening tracks from the companion album, “Stress” and “Outer Sunset,” which are instrumental accompaniments of “Skate” and “No Stress” from the original work.
As described by Tycho on Twitter, the “Outer Sunset” title is an homage to the San Francisco beach community where much of Weather and Simulcast was recorded. The ocean has been an inspiration for the thoughtful artist ever since he moved to San Francisco 14 years ago.
The artist continues to provide discourse for the upcoming work: A Simulcast is the transmission of a program across different mediums and in different languages. The new project shifts the original into the abstract with instrumental soundscapes in place of lyrics, creating a visual space to interpret the message as a new language.
I am very pleased to announce that Simulcast, the instrumental companion album to Weather, will be released FEB 28 🙏
