Trinidad James Joins LML On New Song!

Fresh off current Grammy nominations for his contributions to H.E.R.’s ‘Back of My Mind’ LP, LunchMoney Lewis follows up his Entertainment Weekly debut “Cheat” with “Don’t Stop.” Serving as the latest leak off his highly-anticipated ‘A Good Time For No Reason’ album, the song features COMPLEX: Full Size Run host Trinidad James and is influenced by old-school funk. With its catchy lyrics and rhythmic drum beats, the Holiday-friendly cut enlivens any moment that’s meant to be celebrated with joy.

Lewis on the track’s origins and central theme:

I made this song with my brother Thomas Troelsen in LA 2019. I always knew it was special, so I kept working on it until I got it right. My good brother Trinidad James lives close to me and we kept running into each other, I always was a fan of his work, and when I was playing it one day at my house during the pandemic, I knew I wanted to put somebody on it, and I couldn’t think of a person who could fit the record better than ‘DAD.’ There’s a lot of craziness going on in the world and a lot of stress, so I just wanted to contribute some sunshine and good vibes sonically to the atmosphere in typical Lunch fashion.

The triple threat is best known for his work with Dr. Luke as a producer, and first broke into wide recognition as a rapper after appearing on the song “Trini Dem Girls” from Nicki Minaj’s 2014 album ‘The Pinkprint.’ He also co-wrote Jessie J’s single “Burnin’ Up” from her album ‘Sweet Talker,’ and Fifth Harmony’s single “Bo$$” from the album ‘Reflection.’ In 2015, he released his debut single as a solo artist, “Bills”, which peaked at 79 on the Billboard Hot 100 and peaked at number one on the ARIA Charts.

Hit the dance floor and stream “Don’t Stop” on your DSP of choice after the jump and expect ‘A Good Time For No Reason to be released in 2022 via LunchBox Records.
