The Radar 149: Mixed by Mochakk

Mochakk rose in the dance/electronic scene during live music’s digital days amid the COVID-19 pandemic, submitting demos to Chris Lake during the Black Book Records head’s livestreams on Twitch. It wasn’t long until the Brazilian DJ/producer scored a record deal with the imprint and began seeing viral success from his live performance videos. From there, concerts made a real comeback, and the 22-year-old was off to the races. His latest release, “False Need,” is out now via Black Book, where it surfaces as his first release of 2022, taking him right into festival season. Listeners will get an ample taste of what his live setup sounds like in his exclusive mix for Dancing Astronaut. For episode 149 of “The Radar,” Mochakk provides a nearly 60-minute concoction of techno and house tunes alike, including fan favorites like “Leonardo” and “Buttercup,” tracks from Rossi, Enne, and an Unkown edit of Michael E’s “Give me the Beat,” as well as “a lot of unreleased tunes.”Mochakk has a stacked North American tour on the books that includes stops at Space Miami, Bonnaroo, and Electric Forest this summer.
