Origami Human, the re-imagined indie-electronic project from Jack Koplin and Noah Arin (formerly of NOKO), made significant strides in 2021. After a string of releases on FADER, Origami Human debuted on prominent Spotify playlists like “Metropolis,” “Indie Dancefloor,” and “Fresh Finds,” as well as Apple Music’s “Future Sounds” and “New In Electronic.” Following this momentum, the duo unveiled their self-titled debut EP to close out the year. The body of work was born out of a trip to Zion in the middle of the pandemic and carried a deeper message about mental health amid adversity and sonic inspiration. The anthemic production demonstrated on the EP is audible throughout episode 143 of The Radar. Origami Human pull inspiration from all ends of the spectrum for a 60-minute mix that sees the production pair make unexpected mashups such as Origami Human‘s “Everything All At Once”/Lizzo‘s “Good As Hell,” while seamlessly including electronic favorites like “Spring” by Flume and “Divine” by ODESZA. However, the sound-bending doesn’t stop there, what with Origami Human throwing in The 1975, a live edit of a Finneas track, some Mura Masa into Porter Robinson, and more.
