The matchup you didn’t know you needed—stream Solomun and Jamie Foxx’s ‘Ocean’

As he continues to gear up for the release of his sophomore album, Solomun has aligned himself with Jamie Foxx for a grooving house single, “Ocean.” The one-off invites listeners to “go deep-sea diving” as Foxx’s soulful vocals float over the track while horns create a steady contrast. “I’m a melody floating in the sea/ 20,000 feet, echoes in the deep/ Going down, down, down, down, down,” Foxx sings during the track’s chorus, horns swelling around his vocals. “Ocean” is accompanied by a music video that features Foxx sauntering through dark alleyways as he sings, whales creeping through the puddles that flood the street. Foxx smiles as he sings, city lights twinkling behind him as he observes a school of fish weave their way around each other in a storefront window. Solomun is slated to release his sophomore album Nobody Is Not Loved on May 14. The LP is led by “The Center Will Not Hold,” “Home,” “Kreatur Der Nacht,” “Tuk Tuk,” and “Ocean.” Nobody Is Not Loved comes nearly 12 years after the release of Solomun’s debut full-length release, 2009’s Dance Baby.
