Sir Ivan premieres award-winning music video, ‘Get Together’

Ivan L. Wilzig, renownedly known as Sir Ivan, has debuted his award-winning music video for “Get Together,” a modern dance remake of The Youngbloods’ 1967 hit.Prior to its public release, “Get Together” already won a Gold Remi in the category of “Video of the Year,” beating out nearly 5,000 other entries from 53 countries at the WorldFest-Houston International Film Festival, which is considered to be the third longest running and oldest independent film and video festival in the world. In satirical form as political speech, the video portrays five of the most recognizable advocates of peace in the history of the world all getting together in the name of peace and love at an ’80s-themed penthouse in Miami Beach.“Lyrics can be so powerful,” explains Sir Ivan, adding, Sir Ivan is donating all net proceeds from streaming and download royalties from “Get Together” to The Peaceman Foundation, a charity he created to raise awareness and help those that suffer from PTSD. Sir Ivan’s father, a Holocaust survivor, experienced some classic symptoms of PTSD in his lifetime. Consequently, this is a cause that Sir Ivan is deeply passionate about.Other than his philanthropic efforts, Sir Ivan is best known for remaking popular songs from the ’60s and ’70s, with his remake of John Lennon’s “Imagine” previously scoring status as a Top 40 hit on the Billboard Club Play Chart. Sir Ivan’s rendition represented the first time that a Beatles or John Lennon song had been remade as an electronic song. The producer has explicitly displayed his altruism by donating more than $500,000 to various charities throughout his career, including his recent MegaMix contest, which donated $10,000 to out-of-work DJs in the dance music community.
