Every so often an audiovisual raises the bar in the music video industry. Ahead of his momentous return to Coachella, where Flume will debut his new live set ahead of an international tour run, comes the official music video for “Sirens.” The second early-release single from his impending junior LP, Palaces, due May 20 via Future Classic, “Sirens’” brand new visual aid “hovers at the intersection of nature and technology, transcendence and materiality,” according to video director Daniel Askill. The four-minute sequence takes place in a single setting—an ethereal grotto where featured vocalist Caroline Polachek descends from the heavens toward Flume’s seemingly lifeless body, clad in his album-themed fire suit.
