Nicky Romero launches Protocol Lab with ‘Stuck on You’ by Repiet & Andrew A

Nicky Romero founded Protocol Recordings in 2012. Fans of the label will recognize Protocol Lab, first as a concept for the main label’s ADE compilations, then its own branded stage, and its own label. 10 years after Romero founded Protocol Recordings, Protocol Lab releases its debut pressing from Repiet & Andrew A. The label is meant to be a space for experimentation and an incubator for new sounds and talent on the rise in the electronic world. Enter Repiet and Andrew A and the new imprint’s very first release – “Stuck On You.” Experimentation is abound, both producers bring their own points of view into the mix on a genre-defiant but dance forward debut. It’s hard to put a wrapper on this one. There’s a gentle, but big room energy, a future bass bounce, an industrial electro shrillness and an emotive melody. And then a dream like section of breaks where you almost forget that you are listening to the same song. Whatever it is, they’re on to something.Tags: , ,
