MitiS expands melodic-bass depth with ‘Lost’ follow-up on Ophelia Records, ‘Together’

MitiS‘ 2021 resume saw him earn a spot amongst Dancing Astronaut‘s top electronic albums of 2021 through Dancing Astronaut‘s defending label of the year. And in 2022, MitiS is now turning the page to his first multi-release outing since Lost‘s delivery on Ophelia Records exactly a year and a half ago. No one exactly knew that an EP was on the horizon when he partnered up with Ray Volpe and Linney a month prior, but “Don’t Look Down” was revealed soon thereafter to be the first of three tracks on Together. Title wise, Together takes a complete 180-degree turn from its project predecessor, but its contents only solidify how MitiS is able to build upon the “natural process” that came to him the last time he assembled an extended release. With a melodic-bass-meets-dubstep crossbred to get the Together ball rolling, MitiS receives a collaborative helping hand from two familiar label faces as he ventures even further into the depths of the melodic-bass abyss. Together‘s supplements may both be familiar from MitiS’ hour at EDC Las Vegas’ cosmicMEADOW back in May, with “It’s All You” tapping Dancing Astronaut Artist to Watch in 2022 and Supernova inductee Amidy, who puts his elusive triple-threat status into play through an acoustically driven, heartening sliver of melodic perfection. And to cap off the triple-edged EP, MitiS reunites with Crystal Skies to cement a collaborative trilogy—following “Gone” with Linney and “Wait” with Monika Santucci—on “Youth,” turning his instrumentally based EDC Las Vegas intro into a classic-sounding, seamless interweaving of melodic styles.
