Martin Garrix renews Ytram handle for sophomore original, ‘Fire’ with Elderbrook

Martin Garrix converting Ytram from a DJ-only side project into a legitimate alias might be one of the more unexpected series of events to occur on the musical front in 2020. With a complete absence of touring as a result of the COVID-19 pandemic, the timing seemed more than opportune for Garrix to step into a house lane that he had only ever engaged when behind the decks. After sharing “Make You Mine” with Bleu Clair as Ytram’s freshman single back in July and including a presumptive follow-up to the debut effort at the core of his Tomorrowland Around the World appearance, “Fire” with Elderbrook has officially arrived on STMPD RCRDS, as Garrix goes under his Ytram handle for the second time in as many months.Whether it be big room, progressive house, future bass, or anything in between, Garrix’s production translatability remains seamless, with “Fire” proving to be yet another clear instance in the grand scheme of his release record, which spans nearly one decade. Outrightly taking the track’s title to heart, Garrix assembles a tech house showpiece laded with Elderbrook’s chilling vocals, hypnotic builds and co-production from Matisse & Sadko that come together as a sublime final present for summer’s tail end.Featured image: Insomniac EventsTags: , , ,
