Lunacy Introduces a Smarter Way to Build Delay and Feedback

Los Angeles-based plugin developer Lunacy has unveiled Taps & Portals, two new plugins built in collaboration with musician and producer Benn Jordan.

Together, they give producers a new way to shape movement, space, and character through delay and feedback without dealing with the limitations or instability that usually come with these effects. For anyone who relies on delays to add depth, rhythm, or atmosphere, this pair introduces a level of control that feels immediately useful.

A New Approach to Delay and Feedback

Taps is built to turn delay into a playable design tool. Instead of linear echoes, it lets you build rhythmic patterns, pitch-shifted layers, and shaped harmonics with a dedicated editor that controls up to eight taps. Tape controls like wow, drop, flutter, and dust add texture, while the freeze function encourages experimentation during transitions or breakdowns.

Portals takes feedback design deeper inside Lunacy’s BEAM engine. With up to three feedback nodes running in serial or parallel and a smart compensation system that prevents runaway volume spikes, producers can push into experimental territory while keeping the mix stable and predictable.

Designed for Faster Creative Workflows

For producers who want results without overthinking routing, Taps & Portals arrive with 50 Taps presets from leading sound designers, a 50-preset Parallax pack combining both plugins, and full support across VST, AU, and AAX.

BEAM owners can run multiple instances of each effect internally, turning BEAM into a flexible environment for designing evolving textures, detailed atmospheres, or rhythmic accents. Each feature is tuned toward speed and clarity, helping producers create detailed movement without losing momentum in the session.

Taps & Portals provide an accessible way to add complexity and motion to tracks at an introductory price of $29. The collaboration with Benn Jordan anchors the plugins in practical sound design, focusing on features producers will reach for daily rather than novelty controls.

This combination of depth and ease of use makes the suite valuable for electronic musicians, film composers, and anyone who relies on delays for character shaping.
