Kreggo Leans Into Audial Freedom on “Altro Mood”

Oath’s latest dispatch finds them linking up with one of the underground’s great creative minds: Kreggo, the mastermind behind Art-Aud and Secret Rave, whose new EP “Altro Mood” is a shining deep dive into the endlessly expanding borders of modern electronic music.

Since emerging in 2014, Kreggo’s artistic path has led him across morphing IDM, bubbling acid, shivering breaks and technoid architecture – each release folding seamlessly into the last, each new track a dot on a larger map that he continues to chart. His output across imprints like Furthur Electronix, Nous’klaer Audio and Clone has never felt static. Instead, his music breathes: deep, wandering, full of life.

“Altro Mood” might be one of his most evocative releases yet. Opener “Sensor”, featuring Jairus Sharif and Daniele Patton, hums like a weather system, its larger-than-life drums and woozy pads setting a tone both corporeal and meditative. “Labi Inside” then kicks in with a twist of groove and color, its pulse gliding under melodies that seem to hover and linger in the mind long after. “Obabi” goes deeper still, blending propulsion and poise into a hypnotic slow burn.

Flip to the B side of the vinyl pressing, and “Taylor Bottle” brings feathered touches and rhythmic intricacy into sharp focus – equal parts twitch and dream. Then comes Gilb’R’s remix of “Sensor”, a swirling, dub-drenched version that transforms the original into a thick cloud of glistening electronics and arpeggiated drift.

Kreggo’s music has always lived in the space between physicality and introspection, and “Altro Mood” reinforces that legacy. He’s once again created a place where ideas mutate and rhythms morph, but the heart always beats strong beneath.
