Three of bass music’s finest, Kayzo, REAPER, and Qoiet, have joined forces on newest Welcome Records release “Wait.” Label head Kayzo has been working with a myriad of quickly rising talent this year, already releasing collaborations with the likes of Calcium and HELLBOUND!, as well as additional tunes with Crankdat and Ray Volpe. REAPER and Qoiet have had notable 2020 campaigns as well, with a slew of drum ‘n’ bass Monstercat releases from the former, and a Deadbeats EP with AFK from the latter. Seeing the three collaborate on a single project is the culmination of an exciting year in low-end releases.Metal guitar shreds and aggressive vocals intertwine in an intro that screams Kayzo. The first break in “Wait” is a thundering hard four-on-the-floor breakdown, followed closely by a tantalizing drum ‘n’ bass switch-up. The tail-end of the track proves to be well worth the “Wait” as the final break offers another wildly unique stretch of drum ‘n’ bass with evident hardstyle influence. Each of the three contributing producer’s sounds shine throughout the single, making “Wait” a complementary posse cut loaded with bass music’s best.
