Grammy-award winning producer KAYTRANADA administers a special dose of house minimalism on his latest dance cut, “Iced Tea.” With inspired writing and a syrupy performance from singer-songwriter Joyce Wrice, “Iced Tea” is a rhythmic dance masterpiece from the Haitian-Canadian producer, who’s revered for his consistent dynamism and refreshing features from soulful vocalists and acclaimed artists alike.
This isn’t the first time that the pair have linked for an R&B dance-infused project. KAYTRANADA contributed his production prowess to Wrice’s widely acclaimed debut album in 2021, Overgrown. This latest record with the R&B songstress precisely meets the mark, combining the two similarly inclined artists’ talents for a record that easily grooves. Words of empowerment and divine feminine energy float over an irresistible soundscape of resounding hand claps, percussive loops, and a joyful melody. “Iced Tea” is another exceptional win for the house producer who continues to rack up stellar collaborations.
KAYTRANADA is currently touring internationally, gearing up to play at Lollapalooza Chile, Argentina, and Brazil this month, not to mention Noir Fever, Lightning in a Bottle, Governor’s Ball, and Mo Pop Festival later this year. Visit KAYTRANADA’s website for more information. Joyce Wrice, meanwhile, is set to open Lucky Daye’s Candydrip tour in just a few short days. Tour dates and tickets are still available on her website.
