The Weeknd‘s highly-anticipated joint project with Juice WRLD, which has apparently been in the works since as early as September 2019, has landed.

21-year-old Juice WRLD died in December 2019, but his music and legacy continue to live on. His posthumous album, Legends Never Die, featuring collaborations with Marshmello, Halsey, and Trippie Redd, debuted at No. 1 on the Billboard 200 chart, and currently has streams in the billions on Spotify.
The Weeknd first teased the duo’s co-project in a tweet on August 4. Fans immediately suspected this to be a song with Juice WRLD, given the significance of the number 999 in Juice WRLD’s brand. The Weeknd further solidified these suspicions by quoting Juice WRLD’s September 2019 tweet later that night. Now, “Smile” is here and can be streamed below.
