Joseph Ray releases cinematic sophomore EP ‘300 Below’ via Big Beat Records

Joseph Ray, better known as a founding member of veteran UK electronic group, NERO, has released his sophomore solo EP titled 300 Below via Big Beat Records. The ethereal melodic techno and bass extended play follows Ray’s solo debut and double single, Room 1.5 / Chem-EX, which landed on Above & Beyond’s Anjunadeep label imprint in August 2019, as well as a collection of edits and bootlegs aptly shared ahead of the 10th anniversary of NERO’s debut album, Welcome Reality.By no mistake, 300 Below presents itself in the most cerebral way possible as the five-track EP manages to perpetuate the unifying dystopian concepts of Ray’s primary artistic project. The EP characterizes genres such as experimental drone, ambient, IDM, drum ‘n’ bass, and techno while dispensing contemporary elements of neo-classical atmospheres and composed dialogue. Ray’s immersive sophomore delivery journeys through time and space, simultaneously offering a deeper perspective on Ray’s solo vision through some of his best work to date.
