How It Was Made: Farrago – No One Leaves This Room (Amourocean Remix)

After the celebrated release of his debut album, Blesssed, last year, Farrago unveils a compelling collection of remixes, showcasing the innovative perspectives of some of the most exciting names in modern electronic music. Each remix adds a fresh layer of depth, energy, and emotion, making this package a bold statement in Farrago’s ever-evolving sonic journey.

Closing out the remixes, Aamourocean pushed boundaries with his unique blend of psytrance, gabber, and techno, whilst also being recognized as an accomplished composer for film soundtracks. He gives ‘No One Leaves This Room’ a groovy and gritty vibe, whilst wrapping up the release in funk-infused techno

Words by Amourocean

I only use software for making music so I just need a strong computer and a good pair of monitors! It’s not very « sexy » but in my opinion, computers have no limit and I can make music anytime and anywhere I want.

Monitoring A

I use the PSI A 21M. The monitoring are from 2008, but are perfect, they are so smooth and not aggressive at all. I love making extreme/hard music and my ears can be tired after three hours of producing, this is why I use the PSI. Very precise and soft!

Monitoring B

I switch sometimes with the Yamaha NS-10, it’s very useful for finishing the mix. It’s a big help in finding a good place for the vocal, drums, and energy throughout the track. It’s not precise but it shows you where you are in the artistic processing.

Ableton Live

I use « Ableton Live » for my music. I like all the editing possibilities in this software. It’s hard to find the best software for your music because it colorizes a lot your artistic proposition. Fl Studio sounds like Fl Studio, Logic sounds like Logic music …

Bit-crush

One of the interesting things about this remix is how it uses the Bit-crusher on the Sub. I really like it when low frequencies have very high frequencies too! I use a lot the « Decimort 2 » for this trick. It’s perfect for hardcore kicks!

The synths

Generally, I love having two parts on my track, the first part is essentially rhythmic and the second is melodic. The original track « No one leaves this room » is a rhythmic track, and I wanted to find a euphoric trance melody feating with the original vocal.

For trance, I think the best lead synth is « Spire ». It is a very powerful synth and a lot of presets sound huge.

I like to layer my main synth with “Nexus”, it is not a powerful synth but it reminds me of all the old-school trance sounds.

The pre-master

Recently I use a lot « Gulllfoss » for the EQ of my pre-master, it’s not very precise but you can hear a lot of different EQ propositions. It’s like an artistic way of approaching the pre-master and it’s always interesting !
