Hardwell takes on La Fuente’s ‘I Want You’ as first rework in five years

Rebels Never Die may be complete but that doesn’t have any relation to Hardwell‘s ongoing release cycle. With his sophomore album’s deluxe expansion currently due for November 18, the Revealed Recordings boss is uncovering the first unreleased cut from his run of post-comeback appearances. At the beginning of July, Tiësto had Hardwell join him for a hometown back-to-back at Breda Live, where the two unleashed a Hardwell version of La Fuente’s “I Want You.” And after intermittently popping up during Hardwell’s Rebels Never Die tour, it has now been delivered in full as Hardwell’s first remix since tackling U2 in 2018. La Fuente’s original was born only a couple of weeks following Hardwell’s Bayfront Park homecoming, and he immediately knew he wanted to reconfigure it for his Rebels Never Die sets. That’s exactly what Hardwell did, injecting La Fuente’s tech-house conception with the animated bigroom-techno spirit that his album of the year contender was doused in. While we now wait and see which of his other tour IDs will make the cut on the Rebels Never Die deluxe edition, stream Hardwell’s “I Want You” rework below.
