The Gravity successor is officially locked in for 2022. There’s no exact timetable for Gryffin‘s sophomore album just yet outside of it arriving “later this year,” but the confirmation of existence is all the information anyone needed after he wiped his Instagram clean ahead of its presumed lead single, “You Were Loved” with Ryan Tedder. And a month later, Gryffin is primed to introduce Alive to the world, reuniting with a familiar face in Calle Lehmann for its second preview and album title track.Gryffin and Calle Lehmann had already graciously jelled twice before, having linked up on a pair of picture-perfect meetings, “All You Need To Know” with SLANDER and “After You” with Jason Ross. Preserving their A-named collaborative trend as well as christening a laudable single trilogy, Alive‘s eponymous cut harkens back to a time when Gryffin was solely known as a remixer, ramping up the summer-leaning house persona that he raised through the album’s tracklist predecessor and gradually hinting that it may very well give Gravity a run for its money. And if there’s any indication as to what else may end up making the Alive cut, Gryffin shared a TikTok on his Instagram story of Olivia O’Brien potentially hinting at a tie-up, captioning it “song of the summer?” While we now wait to find out more details about Alive in the coming months, streams its glorious title number with Calle Lehmann below.Featured image: Coachella/FacebookTags: alive, Calle Lehmann, Gryffin
