The momentum continues to build for one of the most beloved figures in the electronic music scene, GRiZ. Following a two-year hiatus, the Denver-based producer and multi-instrumentalist has been on an unstoppable trajectory. After the release of his March EP GEMiNI—which served as a sonic precursor to his current creative chapter—he has maintained a steady output, including the brooding collaboration with Wooli, “Chaos Theory,” and his expansive Sidequest Vol. 1 mixtape.
Today, the artist adds another milestone to his immaculate return with the release of “Coast 2 Coast,” an electrifying new track featuring the legendary Flowdan. The song is a masterclass in high-energy production, showcasing GRiZ’s ability to pivot into heavier, bass-driven soundscapes while maintaining his signature melodic sensibilities.
“Coast 2 Coast” is undeniably powerful. The track features a screeching, aggressive melody designed to command attention, perfectly complemented by the gritty, rumbling vocal delivery that has made Flowdan a staple in the scene. Interestingly, the track originated as a GRiZ instrumental built around a vocal sample of Flowdan from Sammy Virji’s “Shellaverse.” After testing the instrumental in live sets and witnessing the overwhelming crowd reaction, the two artists collaborated to record an entirely original topline, elevating the track into the finished release we hear today.
As part of his highly anticipated return, GRiZ is set to headline his own Seven Stars Festival in Arrington, VA, from October 10-12. The lineup features a stellar roster of talent including Hamdi, Subtronics, Levity, and Disco Lines. Furthermore, he will continue his momentum with performances in Chicago and San Francisco as part of his exclusive Re:Connect show series.
