“Grow your own wings and you can just keep on flying.” This vocal sample, positioned in the intro of Goldi‘s first single since July 5, 2021, “Rose Tinted,” is an apt description of what the Chicago native is doing through the Goldi project: growing his own wings. A pivotal step forward for the producer and songwriter born Pierce Colbert, “Rose Tinted” is the vehicle through which some new elements of Goldi’s branding debut. In the context of his catalog, “Rose Tinted” is only Goldi’s third all-time single, but in its spryness and sound design is the promise of a blossoming career poised to enjoy prominence. A textured and mellifluous rush of sound, “Rose Tinted” will appeal to audiences that gravitate towards instrumental dance/electronic and, particularly, ODESZA. At its core, Goldi sound is a kinetic amalgamation of inspiration taken from different genres, decades, and even regions. The artist project has roots in Colbert’s early ardor for music, catalyzed by YouTube’s early boom and influenced by 2000’s video game soundtracks. Inspired by an eclectic assortment of acts, including N.E.R.D., Fall Out Boy, and Daft Punk, Colbert has won praise from industry fixtures like NGHTMRE, SLANDER, Ookay, and Hekler. Assuredly, he’s one to watch, and the justification for his recognition as such can be found below. Categories: Music
