Gianni Blu resurrects Chris Brown’s ‘Forever’ as a future house dance floor filler

“Predictable” isn’t in Gianni Blu‘s playbook, and if this wasn’t already incontrovertibly clear, then assuredly, it is now. Retooling a 2000’s fan favorite is no small task, but the freewheeling Italian-Haitian tastemaker wasn’t looking for one anyway, as his remake of Chris Brown‘s 2008 staple, “Forever,” asserts. The R&B-tinged contemporary rinse flirts with future house in an enveloping nearly three-minute runtime. Gone are Brown’s immediately recognizable vocals on Blu’s spin, which seats D. Lylez‘s in their place. Blu’s musical makeover serves as another notch in the well-worn Blu-D.Lylez collaborative belt, as “Forever” marks the producer and The Voice contestant’s fifth co-orchestrated outing. Hear Blu and D. Lylez summon their creative synergy below.Tags: , , , ,
