New York’s Electric Zoo (EZoo) music festival has formally postponed its annual Labor Day Weekend event to September 3 – 5, 2021. The news of EZoo’s 2020 cancellation follows a July 9 order from Mayor Bill de Blasio suspending all large events requiring a city permit through September 30.
Festival organizers announced EZoo’s postponement shortly after de Blasio’s order was issued, writing,
“Regrettably, we must stop all the preparations for 2020 Electric Zoo: Supernaturals and reschedule the festival for 2021. We’ve kept hope alive and continued planning and building Electric Zoo until today. While we are heartbroken, everyone’s safety is our #1 priority and we understand the Mayor’s decision.”
Ticket holders will have the option to either request a refund or roll over their passes for the 2021 installment. Those who keep their tickets will get a $50 credit on their 2021 wristbands to be used at the festival. Would-be attendees seeking a refund must submit their request here by July 24.
