Depeche Mode‘s Martin Gore has announced a new five-track solo EP titled The Third Chimpanzee, simultaneously releasing the first single, “Mandrill.”“Mandrill” is comprised of industrial synths that come together to form a dark and otherworldly atmosphere. The tense production finds listeners engulfed in an aural experience that finds oneself on edge; as the song progresses, it never breaks into a lighter moment, instead prevailing as the cinematic soundtrack to an alien war zone or intense manhunt.
