It’s not often in this current day and age that an ID gets pulled out of a pre-pandemic festival set, but Cheyenne Giles had made it happen two consecutive times on Musical Freedom. As the 20th anniversary of Basement Jaxx’s “Where’s Your Head At” draws closer to November, one of Dancing Astronaut‘s Artists to Watch in 2021 opted to slam the door on the two-year-plus wait for his revitalization of the 2001 classic, winding the clock all the way back to Tomorrowland’s inaugural weekend of 2019.None other than the Musical Freedom boss and electronic dance music godfather himself—Tiësto—was in the driver’s seat when introducing the San Diego talent’s rework more than two calendar turns ago. As he always does with his praiseworthy house flips from over the years, Giles does inarguable justice to Basement Jaxx’s time-honored original, injecting it with his high-octane flair of bigroom bounce and fully setting it loose into the festival wild.Featured image: New City GasTags: Basement Jaxx, cheyenne giles, Musical Freedom, tiesto
