What likely first began on a summer afternoon in Ibiza, eventually turned into a massive new collaboration between ARTBAT, David Guetta, and Idris Elba. Out now via ARTBAT’s Upperground label, “It’s Ours” is an eight-minute mixture of melodic-techno and David Guetta’s patented future-rave sound. While “It’s Ours” shares little similarity to some of Guetta’s more big-room inspired future-rave works, the heavy, blasting synths of “It’s Ours” signal undoubted club appeal. Even though Guetta has put out a slew of pop-dance anthems in 2022, “It’s Ours” shows that the veteran producer can return to his deep-house roots on a dime. A longtime coming, the collaboration between the group of artists was first hinted at during one of Guetta’s Friday nights at Hï Ibiza. In a special back-to-back performance between the French selector and ARTBAT, the trio was joined by Idris Elba, showcasing how mainstream sounds can weave between the lines of the underground scene. Joining Guetta regularly on Friday nights at Hï Ibiza, Idris Elba complimented the main room with his bassline-driven tech-house cuts. Officially out now, “It’s Ours” highlights an A-List actor and house producer, one of the most well-known DJs in dance music, and leaders in the melodic-techno scene.
