After seven years since their last album Above & Beyond have returned with their fifth album, ‘Bigger Than All Of Us‘. This album comes after ‘Common Ground’, which reached #3 on the Billboard charts. But before fans can immerse themselves in the full album, Above & Beyond has unveiled Quicksand (Don’t Go), featuring long-time collaborator Zoë Johnston. The track serves as the first single from their forthcoming studio album.
The track debuted during the band’s sold-out Group Therapy 600 broadcast in Mexico last October. Quicksand (Don’t Go) reunites Jono Grant, Paavo Siljamäki, and Tony McGuinness with Zoë Johnston. Her voice has defined some of their most cherished songs, including We’re All We Need, Good For Me, and Love Is Not Enough.
“It’s classic Zoë Johnston,” says the trio. “We’ve been working with her for 22 years, so she’s a part of the band. A song with her vocals is a very reassuring thing for our audience. It says: Above & Beyond are back.” Through Johnston’s deeply personal yet universally resonant lyrics, Quicksand (Don’t Go) explores the feeling of profound grief that accompanies the prospect of losing someone deeply loved.

‘Bigger Than All Of Us’ – 25 Years of Community
The album title itself speaks volumes about the trio’s perspective after 25 years at electronic music’s forefront. ‘Bigger Than All Of Us’ reflects their gratitude for the global community they’ve cultivated and the collective experience their music facilitates.
“This album is us appreciating how amazing this thing we have is,” explain Jono, Paavo, and Tony. “The realization of how lucky we are that we get to be part of something like this for 25 years, and to have built a community that cares for each other in the way it does. It’s not about any of us individually. When we all work together to make something happens, something bigger happens.”
Following Common Ground, the trio explored various creative avenues—from the meditative Flow State to individual projects like Siljamäki’s dancefloor-driven Deeper Tales and McGuinness’s introspective Salt. Now, they return to their emotional storytelling roots with an album that promises to reconnect them with familiar collaborators while introducing new voices to their evolving sound.
“There are songs on here that have stood the test of time in our little world and have had a new life breathed into them by the process that we’ve adopted. But they’re classic Above & Beyond songs, and I think they speak to the huge, worldwide effect that Above & Beyond has. A worldwide meaning. A worldwide connection.” the band further added.
Bigger Than All Of Us is set to release on July 14 on Anjunabeats. It is available for pre-order now on vinyl, CD, limited edition colored vinyl, and picture disc via the Anjuna Music Store.
