Refuge NYC Spring Lineup Includes Villalobos, Galcher Lustwerk and Desyn

Brooklyn club Refuge NYC has announced the first wave of programming for its Spring season, anchored by a new monthly residency from New York house figure Victor Calderone and a series of bookings that pull from across house, minimal, and techno. The venue, located between East Williamsburg and Bushwick, has quickly built a reputation around long-form DJ sets, strong sound system design, and a dancefloor-first philosophy that strips away the usual VIP culture.

The Spring calendar reflects that direction. The programming blends international touring artists with influential figures tied to New York’s club history, while leaning into extended performances and curated events that give DJs room to develop a full arc across the night.

Phones are discouraged, there’s no VIP and no bottle service, keeping the experience raw and unfiltered. Get your tickets now at; refuge.nyc

Victor Calderone launches a new residency at Refuge NYC

The season begins with the launch of Calderone’s new residency titled matter on March 15. The Brooklyn-born DJ will open the series with a Sunday marathon set running from sunrise into the afternoon, continuing a tradition of long-form club performances that have defined parts of New York’s nightlife history for decades.

Calderone’s career spans more than thirty years, with early roots in the city’s club circuit before expanding onto the global stage through residencies, productions, and collaborations across the house and techno spectrum. His return to a recurring residency format at Refuge NYC places that experience inside a venue designed for extended sets, with the club’s custom REX analogue sound system forming the center of the room.

Speaking on the residency, Calderone described Refuge NYC as a space built around the way DJs and dancers interact with sound. The approach aligns closely with the club’s overall philosophy, which prioritizes uninterrupted sets and a focused dancefloor environment.

Spring lineup brings international selectors and label showcases

Beyond the residency launch, the Spring program introduces a broad group of artists across daytime and late-night events. Early highlights include Shinedoe alongside Cell Injection, Max Gardner and Adra on March 13, followed by a daytime event on March 14 headlined by Tim Green with support from Maxi Degrassi, Hoss and Yonit.

One of the season’s central moments arrives on April 4 when Maher Daniel celebrates ten years of his label and event series The Other Side with a special showcase featuring Ricardo Villalobos, Desyn, Galcher Lustwerk performing live, and Shvili. The event brings together several artists closely associated with the deeper corners of house and minimal music.

Additional bookings across the season include Mason Collective, Serge Devant, Mira, Nacho Isa, and salute performing an all-night set, alongside Sunday Selectors sessions featuring influential New York figures Jellybean Benitez and Tony Humphries.

The Venue’s Larger Role

The venue itself plays a large role in shaping the experience. Refuge NYC operates with a strict no-VIP and no-bottle-service policy, keeping the focus on the dancefloor. Its custom-built REX analogue sound system, designed by Craig “Shorty” Bernabeu, remains the central technical feature of the club and continues to be updated with carefully sourced components including vintage JBL tweeters from the 1970s.

Together, the programming and the venue design point toward a Spring season built around extended DJ performances and carefully selected lineups, reinforcing Refuge NYC’s position as one of Brooklyn’s more focused spaces for underground electronic music.
