Let’s shine a light on the beautiful power of teamwork!
Piers Kirwan is gearing up to release “COLLABS“, a four-track EP that feels less like a release and more like a global conversation: one stitched together through deep house, broken-beat pulse, and the unmistakable warmth of human connection. Across its runtime, Kirwan extends an open invitation to three distinct voices from three corners of the map, each bringing their own history and emotional temperature into the room.
Detroit’s Javonntte sets the tone with smoky, poetic vocals that radiate Motor City soul – the kind that doesn’t just sit on top of the groove, but charges it from within. Toronto’s Jeremy Glenn slides in with his signature crystalline harmonies, blurring the borders between soulful house, nu-disco, and late-night R&B shimmer. Completing the triad, Cornwall’s Dalena offers an airy, ethereal counterpoint, giving the EP a cool, modern UK edge that lifts its deepest moments into bright, melodic relief.
Kirwan’s production ties it all together: intricate drum programming, warm analogue synths, deep nocturnal basslines, and broken-beat swing that feels alive in the hands. Each track unfolds like a dialogue, artists separated by geography but aligned by instinct, rhythm, and trust. The package is officially out on December 20th, but you can grab it now on Juno.
For Kirwan, this project is a natural extension of a lifelong trajectory. A UK-born DJ and producer with roots stretching back to late-’80s house parties and early-’90s warehouse culture, he’s spent decades embedded in underground communities, from Natural Rhythm’s legendary run to his years as one half of Stereo Mutants, releasing across Defected, Duffnote, Seamless, Bubble Soul, and more. His path has wound through drum & bass, classic house, international touring, and countless collaborations, but the throughline has always been the same: curiosity, craft, and connection.
COLLABS captures all of that history and distills it into something fresh – proof that it’s always better when you create together.
