The Disco Express Celebrates Release #100 With a Massive Compilation and a Party on a Moving Train

A disco label throwing a party on a moving train just feels right. It’s kinetic, nostalgic, and just the right amount of mad: the perfect metaphor for The Disco Express, which has spent the past five years blurring the lines between house, funk, and soul with unstoppable momentum.

Regarded as one of London’s leading disco labels, The Disco Express has become a vital artery in the modern nu-disco scene. It’s a DJ collective, an international event series, and a creative hub dedicated to “original, soul-infused house and disco music.” Its sound is a collision of vintage warmth and modern precision – a celebration of the past that’s firmly grounded in the future. And they’ve just hit a huge milestone: their 100th release.

Their new 15-track compilation celebrating the occasion, “TDE100“, captures that essence with effortless precision (physical release pictured above). Designed to glide from peak-time club euphoria to slow-burning Sunday recovery, it’s a love letter to the dance floor in all its moods. Funk, soul, nu-disco, and electronica coalesce here in lively conversation. It’s a celebration to what the label stands for, and a package that has something for everybody.

To mark this landmark release, the collective is celebrating in true Express fashion: a four-day art exhibition at The Book Club in Shoreditch (17–20 Sept), followed by a rolling rave aboard a seven-carriage train at ADE on Oct 23. It’s part retrospective, part mission statement, and all groove.

Founder Tom Lilly sums it up best: “Five years and 100 releases is a huge milestone. It’s a tribute to the artists, the community, and the energy that drives The Disco Express. With TDE100, we’re showcasing our sound at its finest. Celebrating with an epic party on a moving train during ADE feels like the perfect metaphor – The Disco Express at full speed, bringing people and music together in a way only we can.”
