Halloween is approaching and Insomniac Events is headed back to SoCal with another edition of its staple holiday event, Escape Psycho Circus. On October 28 and 29, thousands upon thousands of California residents will head to the NOS Center in San Bernardino to witness some of the top acts in dance music. Escape routinely marks one of Insomniac’s most impressive lineups and it went above and beyond in 2022. Outside of the top-line names of Alesso, Martin Garrix, and Tiësto, Insomniac has brought in plenty of rising talent like Moore Kismet, Kill Script, Nurko, Pauline Herr, FrostTop, HoneyLuv, and more.As the date for Escape nears, Dancing Astronaut has come up with a guide for five can’t-miss sets during the Insomniac festival. While single-day tickets for October 30 may be sold out and two-day general admission is 95 percent sold out, there’s still a limited number of tickets available here.Eric PrydzEric Prydz‘s name on an American festival lineup is a rare sight. Not only is the Swedish icon playing his first California show since 2021, but he’s also performing on Escape’s mainstage. While the decorated producer is likely to fill his set with a slew of unreleased IDs, new dance music listeners can be hopeful that he might play a handful of his more well-known songs including “Every Day,” “Pjanoo,” “Opus,” and his latest “Consciousness” remix. The first time attending a Prydz set may be a life-changing moment for many as attendees become transcended by extended buildups and progressive melodies before the bassline drops with world-class lasers and visuals. Even though there may be sections in Eric Prydz’s set where you haven’t heard a seet of vocals, the careful curation of his performance will leave those in presence in awe.Marco CarolaAnother DJ making the trip across the Atlantic Ocean is Marco Carola, who will make an even rarer occurrence in Southern California. One of the longest-standing residents in Ibiza will make his highly anticipated appearance at Escape Psycho Circus. Headlining his own Music On residency at the famed Pacha Nightclub in Ibiza, Marco Carola is one of the most respected house DJs in Europe. While Carola hasn’t released a single under his name since 2011, the Italian icon always includes the hottest and most in demand tech-house IDs in his exquisite performances.MEDUZAIn 2022, MEDUZA have further established themselves as one of the most well-known names in dance music. However, the Italian deep-house trio have shifted their production style of late to further themselves into deep progressive tunes. With recent hits such as “Under Pressure” with Vintage Culture and a remix of Supermode’s “Tell Me Why,” MEDUZA are proving that they can dive further into the underground scene. Even though MEDUZA are surely well-known, Insomniac has strategically booked them for the underground Sewer District stage to play alongside Marco Carola, ANNA, Eli Brown, and more.ClooneeNamed one of Dancing Astronaut’s Artists to Watch in 2022, Cloonee has done more than enough to show he is at the top of his game. Also one of dance music’s most in-demand artists this year, Cloonee has spent 2022 traveling from America to Europe almost every other week. Showcasing his high-energy and drum-focused tech-house, Cloonee put together one of the most talked-about sets at HARD Summer in 2022. Escape will mark his first time returning to the NOS Center since July and attendees should be prepared for Cloonee at his best. After launching his new Hellbent Records label in March, his latest single “MOFO” has received enormous support from the house music community. With a set guaranteed to feature a slew of unreleased IDs, Cloonee will leave no doubt for a packed tent at the NOS Center.Martin GarrixMartin Garrix may be seen as an obvious selection, however, this will be his first appearance in Southern California since 2018. Also appearing at Escape in 2018, Martin Garrix will return to Insomniac’s Halloween festival with more hype than ever before. While the Dutch legend regularly makes a trip just a few hundred miles away in Las Vegas, a festival set brings out a different level of energy from Garrix. Although Escape hasn’t previously featured many LED screens on their mainstage, Garrix will still put on a visual show to remember using his Sentio production to its fullest capacity. Likely set to close out the mainstage on night two of the festival, Garrix will share his debut album with the eager SoCal crowd with a tracklist that’s full of old classics and new energetic tunes.Featured image: Escape Halloween/InstagramTags: cloonee, eric prydz, Escape, insomniac, Marco Carola, Martin garrix, MEDUZA, NOS Center
