Martin Garrix opens season five of ‘The Martin Garrix Show’ with inside look at AREA21’s album

After exactly two years since the completion of season four of “The Martin Garrix Show,” Martin Garrix has finally picked back up on his docu-series with its milestone fifth season. A lot has changed in the time since the show’s season four finale in 2020, where Garrix was announced as the artist behind the EURO 2020 anthem, which would eventually turn into “We Are The People” with U2’s Bono and The Edge. For Garrix’s season-opening episode of “The Martin Garrix Show,” he looks back at the development of AREA21’s debut album Greatest Hits Vol. 1, reflecting on randomly meeting Maejor at a party in Los Angeles and explaining how effortless their music-making process has been since the start. Season five’s 23-minute long debut sees Garrix and Maejor partner with Disney and Titmouse for the project’s coinciding animations, work alongside a group of children for vocals on the album’s fitting finale “Going Home,” and convert “21” from an idea Garrix had in 2015 into a last-minute addition to the LP’s tracklist. The episode also includes AREA21’s first-ever live performance that happened in the middle of Garrix’s set at EDC Las Vegas back in October as well as teaser that a proper AREA21 show is on its way. While we wait for episode two to land in March as well as Garrix’s Ultra set—which is slated to include at least five confirmed IDs at the moment—watch episode one of season five of “The Martin Garrix Show.”Featured image: Louis van BaarTags: , ,
