On the morning of January 16, Swedish House Mafia left us all in complete shambles after sharing an Instagram story of a Dropbox link that contained Chris Lake’s never-before-heard spin of their third Paradise Again offering, “Moth To A Flame.” Up until this point, there hadn’t been an official remixes released for the Swedes’ crossover with The Weekend—or any other album single for that matter—but Axwell, Sebastian Ingrosso, and Steve Angello called in the Black Book Records boss for an unpredictable reimagining of one of Dancing Astronaut‘s top tracks of 2021 while the cryptic countdown ensues for “Redlight.”No one’s entirely sure how Chris Lake’s remix exactly happened, although it was confirmed to have been coordinated somewhat recently after he revealed that he’d finalized it in mid-January, adding that it “might be one of the best mixes [he’s] ever made.” Chris Lake simply does what he does best on his “Moth To A Flame” overhaul, giving it a sweltering tech-house twist that catapults right off the trio’s lengthened version from December to further clinch the fact that Swedish House Mafia’s name will be reseated in tracklists throughout the coming spring and summer seasons.Featured image: Alive CoverageTags: chris lake, Swedish House Mafia, The Weeknd
