Felix Cartal drops heavy Justice remix under Glass Petals alias

Productivity during quarantine is not issue for Felix Cartal. In 2020, the Vancouver-born musician has released originals like “Mine” and “Harmony,” on top of remixes for Shallou, Anne-Marie, Doja Cat‘s “To Be Young,” and more with his distinguished electronic touch. While Cartal gears up for the upcoming release of “Lose My Love,” featuring the talents of Gallant and Sad Money, he continues to dip his toes into heavy house waters with his Glass Petals side project. The duo of Cartal and Johnny Jover have been making music for two years, with releases on prominent dance labels like HEXAGON, Heldeep, and CONFESSION. Now, they’ve remixed Justice‘s “Stress,” adding some dark, orchestra-lead instrumentals to the 2007 classic with deep vocals and perfectly timed house synths to get people moving this Halloween. Cartal reminisces on early DJ days around the release:“The 3rd show I ever played when I started my DJ career was opening for Justice [and] Busy P at The Arches in Glasgow. An insanely wild night and I got paid with a 12-pack of Heineken (although I was stoked to just get free tickets to the show, the beer felt like a bonus). Glad we could get this out just in time for Halloween—it feels sonically appropriate!!”Check out the duo’s weekly “Simulation Sundays” Twitch stream, while Cartal himself goes live mid-week for “Wavy Wednesdays.”Tags: , , , , , , , , ,
