Hudson Mohawke has kept busy these last few months, and now we’re finally hearing the culmination of his quarantine-derived productivity. Hot off the heels of last month’s Heart of the Night EP, HudMo is back again with a brand new trove of unreleased cuts that are loaded with savvy sample-work on B.B.H.E.
After a run of noteworthy collaborations this year with Tiga and Jimmy Edgar, HudMo looked at his own personal stash of tunes that he had accumulated over the years and decided they officially deserved to see the light of day. Quarantining in LA for several months, the guilt of hoarding such a vast, unique grip of music eventually consumed the TNGHT proponent, and thus, we now have a flood of new Hudson Mohawke joints that date back as far as the mid-2000s. The EP finds widely recognized fan-favorites rubbing shoulders with previously unheard instrumental cuts that all manage to blend together in clamorous, off-kilter harmony in a way that is quintessentially Hudson Mohawke from front to back. A stellar 14-track cache of rare gems from the seasoned Scottish beatsmith—B.B.H.E. is out now Warp Records.
