Highlighting his ever-evolving versatility, Yotto has returned to Anjuna’s newly established Reflections imprint to deliver “Shadow Cycle.” The chilling piano ballad comes as the second single from his impending downtempo project Erased Dreams, which sees the Finnish talent move away from the decks and into the stylistic unknown.Yotto’s ambient work captures the atmospheric and hypnotic nature that’s ingrained in his club productions, but applies a sense of introspection that dance music often struggles to find. “Shadow Cycle” is soothing and melodic, but creates its magic through a uniquely chilling embrace. Yotto lets the single’s crisp and frosty keys be carried by a purring low end, ultimately finding ways to sonically, expressively, and emotionally do a lot with a little.Yotto’s new single, “Shadow Cycle” can be streamed below, and his upcoming Erased Dreams album is due July 11 via Anjunabeats’ Reflections imprint. Those who would like to dive even deeper should look towards Yotto’s self-described inspiration for the album, The KLF’s 1990 electronic concept album, Chill Out.
