X&G, nearing disbandment, make one final return to Sable Valley for ‘Void Theory’

After eight years of producing music and touring together, bass duo X&G will hang it up. Interested in pursuing their own solo careers, Xian and Gaszia announced in July that 2022 will be the last year of X&G. Esteemed within the bass community, among the broader dance environment, X&G’s latest single “Void Theory” lands on an equally lauded label, fittingly finding a home on RL Grime‘s powerhouse imprint, Sable Valley. “Void Theory” follows “Someday” which was also released on Sable Valley through on label’s Summer Vol. 3 mixtape.“Void Theory’s” spooky synths lead into a swift drum sequence, before X&G layers their signature experimental bass sound over a snappy drum n’ bass layout. Deeper into the track, X&G surprises listeners with a switch into a heavy trap bassline encased in heavily distorted vocals. While it is unclear if “Void Theory” will be the duo’s final release, we know we’re well into the X&G victory lap at this point.
