After earning a spot on Dancing Astronaut’s list of the Top Electronic Albums of 2020, Whethan has followed his debut album, Fantasy, with an array of music that continues to elevate his career to new heights. Since its release, the project has seen immense critical acclaim, as well as key sync placements, such as an Apple iPhone commercial that used “Drumdown Mambo.”In March 2021, the multi-talented producer unveiled highly anticipated reworks of the project on Fantasy: Remixed, which collated contributions from Tchami, Flux Pavilion, and other A-listers. He also visited City National Grove of Anaheim in California for a drive-in concert, his first live show in over a year.As we head into what looks to be a safe and vaccinated return to festival season, Whethan is showing no signs of slowing things down, as his new single “Warning Signs” illustrates. Featuring rising idiosyncratic rapper/producer/songwriter Kevin George, the single’s auto-tuned vocals complement the eccentric bass and dark synthwork that Whethan provides. Fans know that Whethan rotates all over the spectrum when it comes to genre, and this release rings no different, experimenting between old-school hip-hop samples and electronic leads alike.Tags: Fantasy, flux pavilion, Tchami, Whethan
