JANUARY:
Supertaste – Supernova (Jafunk Remix) [Supertaste Music]
If you are familiar with Supertaste‘s original version of “Supernova”, you know it has a chill indie vibe. Jafunk has injected the track with his signature disco bass, some light synths, and those beeps and pews he loves. If you like Parcels, then this track is definitely for you!
Angelica De No – Gonna Get Over You (Spen & Thommy’s Classic Love Break Version) [Quantize]
For over 20 years, Angelica De No has been singing in the electronic music industry. Her cover of France Joli’s “Gonna Get Over You” stays true to the original while featuring De No’s outstanding vocals. The Spen & Thommy Classic Love Break version adds a deeper funk feeling to the track, making it more of a reimagining of the track than a straight cover. It’s all very well done indeed!
FEBRUARY:
Anané – Let Me Be Your Fantasy (Dimitri From Paris Extended Remix) [Nervous Records]
Anané is a powerhouse DJ alongside her husband, Louie Vega, and the world should be ready when she releases new music! “Let Me Be Your Fantasy” has received the royal remix treatment from some of the world’s top producers, and it should come as no surprise that Dimitri From Paris would give this track his classic disco touch! The entire remix package is not to be missed, with remixes from Masters At Work, Moplen, Mousse T, and more!
MARCH:
Sophie Ellis-Bextor – Relentless Love [Universal Music Operations Ltd]
Sophie Ellis-Bextor is ready for her disco close-up! If you followed her during the pandemic, the legendary singer livestreamed her Kitchen Disco concerts, priming her for her upcoming 2025 album, in addition to her resurgence in popularity due to the 2023 film Saltburn and its use of “Murder On The Dancefloor”. “Relentless Love” is pure joy, beckoning the listener to the dancefloor, where Ellis-Bextor shines the brightest.
APRIL:
Soul Clap & Egyptian Lover – Hai Karate (FSQ x Spooki Remix) [Soul Clap Records]
Egyptian Lover, aka Greg Broussard, is a true legend in the biz, with a discography that is mind-blowing. His collaboration with Soul Clap is a nod to the past while living in the present, created with some of the best disco/funk producers of the modern era! The FSQ x Spooki remix adds a touch of disco into the mix in all the right places.
MAY:
Moon Boots – Sunshine (Extended Mix) feat. Lyric Jones [Fools Gold Records]
Moon Boots returns to form with a classic nu-disco track perfectly crafted for summer: “Sunshine.” Lyric Jones provides the sexy, breezy vocals that beg the listener to throw on some flip-flops, spray down with sunscreen, grab a drink, and head into the sunshine! The couple in the song is certainly doing just that! Check it out on Fools Gold Records!
Mark Lower – Endlessly feat. Dyanna Fearon [Tinted Records]
Mark Lower has been producing classic disco/house tracks since he was a teenager, and age has certainly added experience to his ever-expanding talents as a musician! On “Endlessly,” Lower has employed the formidable talent of vocalist Dyanna Fearon, and together they have created a polished disco track that will keep you coming back for more!
JUNE:
Yuksek – She’s Mine [Razor-N-Tape]
Yuksek is an artist who releases his music through several different record labels and has found a home at Razor-N-Tape for his latest EP, Déjà Vous. The track harkens back to the early days of Indie Disco or Nu-Disco, featuring bright vocals by Isaac Delusion and Yuksek’s signature French Touch style.
Fleur De Mur – One Last Kiss [AOC Records]
Fleur De Mur makes breaking up sound so good! This soulful songstress knew when her relationship was over, but she still wanted “One Last Kiss” to make it final. Working with Georges to craft a timeless Disco track was pure genius, and there is no question that Fleur De Mur is having the last laugh! Check out her brilliant new album Be My Own Man now!
JULY:
Lord Leopard & Little Boots – Spin Back [Future Disco]
Little Boots (Victoria Hesketh) is a busy mom of two now, but that doesn’t stop her from wanting to get you on the dancefloor! Collaborating with Lord Leopard, “Spin Back” has an Indie Disco vibe that has summer written all over it! It’s been three years since Little Boots’ last LP, so even a single track is welcome news!
Cerrone & Christine and the Queens – Give It To Me [Malligator/Because Music]
July 4th marked the release of the “Catching Feelings” EP, a collaboration between Cerrone and Christine and the Queens. The 4-track EP contains the title track and three more superb modern disco gems, including a new version of “Supernature” with Purple Disco Machine. “Give It To Me” lets Christine (Rahim Claude Redcar) shine on vocals, with tension and vulnerability simultaneously intermingling for maximum effect.
The WildViolets – Maybe (Bustin’ Loose Remix) [The Disco Express]
Sometimes you need a song to chill to or end an evening with, and The WildViolets‘ “Maybe” certainly fits the bill. A song about an uncertain romance, The Disco Express label head Bustin’ Loose ups the BPM a little, making the song perfect for one last slow dance with the person you want to take a turn around the dancefloor with.
AUGUST:
Goshfather & MGR Mike – Soul (Extended Mix) [Sparkle Motion Recordings]
San Francisco’s Goshfather and Nashville’s MGR Mike have collaborated on the genre-bending “Soul”, a floor-packing Disco/House banger that asks you to let the music fill your soul. MGR Mike has found his musical home in the Disco/House genre and is a full-time ambassador spreading the gospel of Disco. This track can do the preaching for him!
Jafunk – Disco Turbo [Luckie Star Records]
There must be something special in the water in Portugal because Jafunk has never sounded funkier! “Disco Turbo” is the latest release from his upcoming EP, and Haile Supreme and the Triple H Horns add just the right je ne sais quoi to Jafunk’s jamming bass and Disco guitar riffs.
Kiinjo & Birdee – Desire (Extended Mix) [Juliet Records]
Kiinjo (you might remember him as Grandtheft) is back with “Desire”, a sexy Disco/House jam created with the equally talented Birdee. The vocals are ultra soulful, and you believe the house is on fire when she sings it! I can’t stop my desire for more Kiinjo music!
SEPTEMBER:
Kraak & Smaak – Travel Light feat. Ivar [Boogie Angst]
While we wait for Kraak & Smaak‘s upcoming LP, Velvet Seas (October 21st), the exciting teaser track “Travel Light” features the light-as-air vocals of IVAR, imploring us to stay committed to a relationship, knowing where you’ve been, but being flexible enough to travel light and see what opportunities are next. This is a classic Disco-infused track, built of funky bass, glossy strings, horns, and all the things that have made this band special.
Kaleena Zanders with Yung Bae – Time Never Stops [Helix Records]
When Yung Bae sent the music for “Time Never Stops” to Kaleena Zanders, she immediately knew she had to write an incredible lyric to go with it! With the dream team production skills of Yung Bae and Vaughn Oliver, Disco magic was born! As the lyric says, time never stops, but don’t think your next move won’t be your greatest!
Say She She – Disco Life [drink sum water]
Say She She never had the “Disco Life”, but they are living in that era now! The sweet vocals of Piya Malik, Sabrina Mileo Cunningham, and Nya Gazelle Brown blend seamlessly to create an ethereal listening experience. The song doesn’t sound political, but at its core, the message is that the dancefloor is a place where we are all equal, no racism or homophobia allowed. Preach!
OCTOBER:
JKriv – Adaptation [Rocksteady Disco]
“Adaptation” evokes a sense of rebirth, and that is something JKriv is experiencing in 2025 after receiving the all clear following a brush with cancer. The title track from his latest EP of the same name, this song falls on the mellow side of Disco/House, drawing the listener into a lush landscape of a melodic wonderland.
Golden Gate & Inaya Day – My Name Is Love [The Disco Express]
The Disco Express is celebrating its 100th release as a label with its star-packed compilation, including the stellar “My Name Is Love”, a collaboration between Golden Gate and the illustrious Inaya Day! The lyrics are uplifting and remind you why you need Disco music and the joy, love, and community it brings! This is classic Disco for the modern era.
NOVEMBER:
Suki Soul – Can’t Stop [Fool’s Paradise]
Releasing her first track on Mark Knight’s Fool’s Paradise label is no small feat, but Suki Soul (Sara Larder) makes it look easy! Her non-stop schedule as an in-demand vocalist makes it seem impossible for her to have time to create and release music of this caliber, but Soul continues to wow with each release! “Can’t Stop” is funky and soulful, all of the things you can expect to hear if you catch Suki Soul live!
Rikky Disco – Expectations [Stockholm Disco Sounds]
I do love a good remix, but sometimes, the original is simply the way to go, and this is the case for Rikky Disco‘s latest single, “Expectations”. This Stockholm duo eats, breathes, and sleeps Disco. This song is sweet and light per Fanacy’s vocal delivery, and Chris Tall’s plucky, lilting music fits the vibe perfectly. She says she wants drama, but this track is just fun!
Sébastien Tellier – Thrill of the Night feat. Slayyyter & Nile Rodgers [Because Music]
Sébastien Tellier‘s upcoming 2026 LP, Kiss The Beast, is going to be a star-studded affair. The second teaser track, “Thrill of the Night,” features Nile Rodgers on guitar and Slayyyter on vocals. The track sounds ready for commercial radio, but has classic Cerrone vibes; think Supernature with a modern vocal take. It’s a winner, and another exciting peek into this album!
DECEMBER:
Cerrone & The Flints – Dancing Back To Life [Malligator Préférence]
Marc Cerrone seems to never stop working, and his collaboration with The Flints to end 2025 is pure nu-disco magic! “Dancing Back To Life” has an ease to it that welcomes the listener to enter a world where dancing can cure all that ails us, and I can tell you this is where I want to go!
Alex Frankel – Icarus (RAC Mix) [Juliet Records]
There are two names that I am very happy to be saying again in 2025, and they are Alex Frankel and RAC. Both artists have shifted focus professionally and personally for the last few years, giving each time to come back with fresh voices. Frankel released “Icarus” in November, but it’s RAC’s December remix that takes the track to new heights! This is the perfect collaboration to end 2025!
There is really no way to cover just how much amazing Disco and Funk music was produced in 2025, but I highly encourage you to check out some best-of compilations that are available now!
