Following up on his Mercury Prize nominated debut LP Nothing Great About Britain, slowthai shares his second studio album TYRON. The British rapper’s sophomore offering arrives across two discs with seven tracks each. TYRON‘s two halves each showcase a different side of slowthai, with disc one full of high energy heaters (featuring Skepta and A$AP Rocky) and disc two diving into more introspective material. Disc two features performances from James Blake, Dominic Fike, Denzel Curry, Deb Never, and Mount Kimbie. Additionally, Kenny Beats picks up production credits on “focus” and “terms.” Since his 2019 debut, slowthai has continuously gained momentum through a series of marquee collaborations. First, he assisted with Mura Masa‘s new musical direction with the punk-dance crossover “Deal Wiv It.” Later, he worked his way onto two of the biggest electronic records of 2020 in Gorillaz‘ Song Machine, Season One; Strange Timez and Disclosure‘s ENERGY. slowthai has already shared four music videos supporting TYRON, including the absurd “feel away.” Featured image: aAh!
