RL Grime, ILLENIUM, Tiësto and more headline Insomniac’s grand opening of San Diego’s NOVA SD

In January, Pasquale Rotella filed a liquor license with the city of San Diego for downtown’s defunct Omnia Nightclub under the name “WHY NOT SAN DIEGO LLC.” It didn’t take long to get an official announcement about the news from the man himself. In an Instagram post, Rotella said the following: “Welcome to our new SoCal venue, NOVA SD! After almost three decades of San Diego ravers traveling to many of our events, we’re excited to finally have a home in Downtown’s Gaslamp Quarter.” Rotella promises new production elements and more space on the dance floor compared to the old Hakkasan-owned Omnia Nightclub. Fittingly, Nova album maker RL Grime will get the honors to open Southern California’s newest nightlife destination on February 25. The rest of the grand opening lineup includes deadmau5, JAUZ, Tiësto, ILLENIUM, Diplo, Joyryde, and Steve Aoki, rounding out eight shows over four weeks. Tickets go on sale here on February 1.
