Out of the United Kingdom’s house scene came James Hype, who, since his breakthrough, has swiftly emerged as a noteworthy talent. With just about half a billion cumulative global streams, not to mention official remixes for Bruno Mars, Joel Curry, MEDUZA, and more, Hype, who recently signed with The Cross Records and Island Records UK, is poised to accumulate more of just that. Hype’s latest endeavor finds him rewiring “Beautiful,” from Claptone‘s third studio album, Closer. On his revision, Hype adds his signature deep synths and a musky, techno-driven bassline primed for dark warehouse endeavors. “For me, the original record felt like a summer day vibe, with Lau.ra’s floaty vocal. For my remix, I wanted to make a nighttime version, bringing the pace and energy up for the dance floor, adding in some more aggressive sounds and my heavy beat for good measure. Glad to say it’s gone off in both mine and Claptone’s sets!” Hype told Dancing Astronaut. The remix appears alongside edits from French disco tastemaker Monkey Safari and Murmur Tooth & Lars Moston, all out now via Different Recordings. Claptone fans will likely hear some of the alternate takes at his Encore Beach Club and XS at Wynn Vegas residencies this summer. The James Hype remix of “Beautiful” formally releases on April 28, but listeners can stream it one day early, exclusively on Dancing Astronaut.Featured image: James Hype/FacebookTags: Claptone, closer, james hype, premiere
