PLAYY. Announces PLAYY. Music: A Social Platform Built For Independent Artists

For years, musicians have played the industry’s game by rules they didn’t write. Labels, agents, and middlemen decided who got a shot and who got left in the dust. If you didn’t make it past their standards, biases, and filters, you didn’t make it at all. The result? A system where artists worked day and night to create valuable music but rarely saw any kind of reward.

UK music company PLAYY. (formerly The Playground) caught wind of this, and have announced PLAYY. Music, a bold new social platform designed to reverse the industry narrative. Launching July 2025, PLAYY. Music is a hard-won tool built specifically for artists, aiming at giving creators more control.

PLAYY. Music lets musicians sell their music directly, license tracks and samples, book gigs, crowdfund projects, and connect with fans – all on their terms. It’s a home for producers offering services, for indie bands selling tickets, for the underground artist looking for someone to tell their story to. Fans can explore new sounds, support their favorite acts, and be part of something real – not curated by algorithms, but by community.

This project has been long in the works. Inspired by watching artists struggle with limited resources and industry monopolies, PLAYY. founder Warren Morris spent nearly two decades planning and developing PLAYY. Music from the ground up. “It shouldn’t be this difficult for artists to share their work and make a living,” he says. “Creating a tech platform of this scale seemed nearly impossible. However, once I took the lead on design and assembled the right development team, we made it happen.” After years of strategy, growth, and design, the platform is finally ready.

Phase 1 of PLAYY. Music will be launching in July to the general public. If you’re interested, then you can join the waitlist here and gain access to one of the most empowering tools for artists to launch in recent memory.

After all, it’s your music. Now, you can take complete control over it and do everything your way. As the PLAYY. team says, “Your Music. Your Stage. Your Terms.”
