Pegasvs Finds the Joy & Silences the Stats on “Music Not Numbers”

We’re always on the hunt for top-notch deep house releases. We’ve got one here for you.

Pegasvs is back with “Music Not Numbers“, the second chapter in his ongoing “In Search Of” trilogy, and it’s a record that hums with both intent and imagination. Released via his own Burnin Music imprint, the EP finds the London-based producer deepening his dialogue with the dance floor, merging emotional resonance with percussive precision in a timeless and near-rebellious manner.

The project’s core statement arrives early, with a title track that serves as a warm, human refusal of algorithmic sterility. “Music Not Numbers” is a full on thesis of what Pegasvs is going for. Its vintage house chords bloom like sunlit dust through club air, while drums drive with organic electricity, reminding you that good grooves aren’t something you can program, but something you can feel.

“Groove Theory” pushes that energy forward with euphoric keys shimmering, and rhythm sections snapping into kinetic lockstep. Then comes “Trapped in Love”, the EP’s emotional climax, built around a bassline that could hypnotize a room and vocal work that teeters between bliss and ache. Acid lines snake beneath the surface, lending it a restless, late-night edge.

Closing with “The Flute Song”, Pegasvs leans into joy. It’s playful, buoyant, almost cheeky: the sound of an artist smiling through his work, confident in his command of mood. In fact, across the entire EP, you can really feel that joy. “Music Not Numbers” is a reminder of what happens when the human touch cuts through the digital noise: four tracks of heart-forward house that put feeling first, and all metrics and statistics afterwards. It’s an ethos we could all use a little more of these days, and a reminder to why we fell in love with music in the first place.
