Nicolas Jaar‘s newest compilation is one of the most unique musical projects of his career, ironically thanks to the lack of music throughout. Caves – A Compilation of Silences is a series of eight ambient and meditative productions, each with a extended pause or “cave” in the middle of the piece. The caves are designed with functionality in mind, allowing the listener to use the track as a timer for cooking, meditation, running, walking, or sleeping. On Twitter, Jaar shared the inspiration behind the project:Caves – A Compilation of Silences is the first 2021 release from Other People, Jaar’s label.
